CDI UPDATES VIETFARM ORGANIC STANDARDS

On July 19, 2023, the Center for Development and Integration (CDI) successfully organized the seminar “Introducing the Vietfarm organic standards in agricultural production.” This important event aims to promote Vietnamese agriculture to produce sustainable values ​​for the environment and meet the quality standards requirements of international and domestic markets.

Products applying Vietfarm standards were introduced to delegates at the workshop.

The seminar attracted the participation of 25 delegates, including partners, old and new members of Vietfarm Standards. In the first part of the workshop, CDI introduced the latest update of Vietfarm Standards. It is worth noting that the new version has expanded the application scope from farming to low-carbon, organic farming, and livestock. This version represents the development and more flexible response of Vietfarm Standards to different agricultural industries.

Thanks to this seminar, representatives of associations, unions of cooperatives, cooperatives, and cooperative groups better understood the content, benefits, and core values ​​of Vietfarm standards. Through exchange and suggestions, they have jointly developed and perfected the standard to improve the quality of Vietnam’s agricultural production and adapt to the requirements of the international market.

CDI introduces Vietfarm Organic Standards

Next, in the latter part of the workshop, CDI and Vietfarm standards partners discussed ideas and made additional contributions to the new set of standards. The diverse participation of experts and representatives from different fields has created a multi-dimensional discussion environment, taking advantage of professional understanding and practical experience to perfect the Vietfarm Standards the best.

Below is a list of participants who discussed and commented on this event:

1.  Associate professor – Dr. Mai Quang Vinh, representative of the Vietnam Union of Digital Economy Cooperatives: With his professionalism and understanding of the field of digital economy, Mr. Mai Quang Vinh gave important suggestions. Vietfarm must take advantage of digital technology in production management and product traceability.

2. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lien, representative of the Food Transparency Association: Ms. Lien gave valuable opinions on ensuring the transparency and trustworthiness of organic products, helping to increase customer loyalty and consumer confidence.

3. Ms. Doan Thanh Hang, representative of the Thai Nguyen Union of Cooperatives: With experience in organic agricultural production, Ms. Hang has made important recommendations on establishing an effective and sustainable organic farming model.

4. Mr. Bui Xuan Su, representative of Ne Chau Longan Cooperative: Mr. Su contributed creative ideas to enhance brand value and market access for organic agricultural products from Ne Chau Longan Cooperative.

5. Dr. Vu Van Chat, representative of the Institute of Digital Economy, Culture and Society: Dr. Vu Van Chat gave an in-depth analysis of the importance of applying digital economy in improving production efficiency and consumption of organic products.

6. Mr. Nguyen Nghia Vuong, Director of Vibook Digital Technology Company: Mr. Vuong shared advanced technology solutions to support farmers in managing and optimizing agricultural production processes.

The quality and sustainability of agriculture is the goal that Vietfarm Standards aims for, and this event has highlighted the awareness and commitment of the Vietnamese agricultural community to developing modern and sustainable agriculture to meet the requirements of the international market. Through active cooperation and discussion, it is hoped that the Vietfarm Standards will be more and more complete, contributing to promoting sustainable development for Vietnam’s agriculture in the future.
